Structural Design Engineer

Our client, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join their design team in Croom, Co. Limerick. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing innovative concrete structures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in reinforced concrete (RC) design and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and detail precast concrete structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Perform structural calculations and analysis for reinforced concrete elements using recognised design codes.
• Produce technical drawings and documentation, collaborating with the drafting team to ensure accuracy.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
• Review and approve designs, ensuring structural integrity and cost efficiency.
• Conduct design reviews and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation in structural solutions.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of design into the manufacturing process.
• Stay updated with advancements in RC design techniques and industry regulations.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years’ experience in structural design, with a focus on reinforced concrete (RC) design.
• Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
