Introduction We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with an M&E Background to join a highly regarded Tier 1 Main Building Contractor, renowned for delivering landmark projects across Ireland. Based in Dublin, this position offers an opportunity to work on large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects with a well-established and dynamic team. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional looking to advance their career and play a pivotal role in the financial management of major construction projects.
Responsibilities - Overseeing cost management and budgeting throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Managing all aspects of contract administration, from tender analysis through to the preparation of final accounts.
- Identifying, assessing, and pricing variations and claims, ensuring the accurate documentation of project changes.
- Leading the procurement process, evaluating subcontractor bids, and negotiating contract terms.
- Preparing regular financial and progress reports for senior management and project stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior quantity surveyors and supporting their professional development.
- Working closely with project teams to drive cost-efficiency and support successful project delivery.
Requirements - A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC, RIAI, and FIDIC.
- Strong commercial awareness and a proven track record in cost control and financial forecasting.
- Proficiency with cost management software such as CostX, CATO, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel to sites in the Dublin area as needed.
Package - Salary: €80,000 - €95,000, depending on experience.
