ProSource Group are seeking a Senior Energy Engineer on behalf of one of Ireland's leading consultancies. This is a hybrid role and has the option of working in Dublin, Cork, Galway or Limerick.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage, design, develop & evaluate energy related projects or programs to reduce or improve energy costs & energy efficiency during the designing, building or re-modelling stages of construction.
*Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the full Energy & Sustainability Engineering process for multiple projects.
- Oversee the appointment, management, and auditing of subcontractors and their data.
- Conduct dynamic thermal modelling (IESVE), including Part L assessments, comfort analysis (TM52/59), natural ventilation studies, and daylighting evaluations.
- Undertake and oversee studies related to BREEAM credits, covering thermal comfort, low/zero carbon technologies, emissions reduction, predicted operational energy, and daylighting.
- Perform residential Part L assessments using accredited SAP software for large-scale energy strategies.
- Prepare Energy & Sustainability Statements to support planning applications, ensuring coordination between multiple design stakeholders.
- Develop high-quality reports that effectively communicate findings and sustainability strategies.
- Support business development by contributing to marketing materials and participating in project interviews.
- Conduct EPC assessments for both domestic and non-domestic buildings.
- Drive the adoption of new systems and technologies within the sustainability sector.
- Provide mentorship and development support to junior engineers.
- Attend client and project site visits to represent the organization for meetings, surveys, and training.
*Required Qualifications: - Degree in Building Services Engineering (or a related field such as Sustainability, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil-Structural Engineering), with additional qualifications in Energy or Sustainability.
- Strong understanding of M&E services design and engineering.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Sustainability Engineer, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- 1-2 years’ experience in thermal modelling using IESVE, with a solid grasp of MEP services and current Building Regulations (including Part L and Part F).
- Experience with SAP, SBEM, IESVE, daylight analysis, thermal comfort assessments, and heating/cooling calculations.
- Desirable: Qualified Domestic/Non-Domestic EPC Assessor.
- Desirable: Progress toward Chartered status or professional membership.
