Senior Accountant

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing construction business. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering timely and accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data in line with internal policies and relevant legislation
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and monthly cash flow requirements
• Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and full compliance with tax regulations
• Prepare monthly management accounts in line with strict reporting deadlines
• Continuously improve the month-end close process to enhance efficiency and meet evolving business needs
• Lead the preparation and coordination of the annual budgeting process
• Review and analyse variances against budget and prior-year performance
• Implement new systems and processes to enhance financial reporting functions
• Oversee and coordinate the year-end statutory audit
• Deliver meaningful financial insights and recommendations to senior management
• Prepare and present performance reports, including variance analysis
• Perform additional duties as required by the management team

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within the construction or related industry in Ireland.
• Proven experience in team management and leadership
• Strong technical knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex data and solve problems effectively
• Experience implementing or optimizing financial systems and processes
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
• A collaborative team player with a proactive and hands-on approach
