Introduction An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join a leading property developer in Galway. Working on high-quality residential and commercial developments, you’ll play a vital role in delivering well-designed, sustainable projects that positively shape the local landscape. This position is ideal for a proactive Quantity Surveyor with 3-5 years of experience who is eager to join a developer with a robust pipeline of projects in the West of Ireland.
Responsibilities - Managing all cost-related aspects of development projects, from feasibility through to final account.
- Preparing and reviewing budget estimates, tender documents, and procurement schedules.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor project progress, assess variations, and ensure quality standards.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, including preparing packages, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
- Preparing cost reports and tracking financial progress against budgets.
- Handling monthly valuations and interim payments, ensuring timely processing.
- Collaborating closely with the design, project, and site teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Supporting the senior management team with commercial insights and recommendations.
Requirements - A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
- 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally within a developer or main contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of cost control, project planning, and Irish building regulations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Cubit, Buildsoft, or similar.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently when required.
- Full driving licence and availability to travel to project sites around Galway as needed.
Package - Salary: €50,000 - €60,000, commensurate with experience.
