ProSource are working on behalf of a a well-established Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) firm based in Cork, known for delivering exceptional cost consultancy services across residential, commercial, industrial, and public sector projects. As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and contribute to the successful delivery of their diverse portfolio.
  
Responsibilities
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for a variety of construction projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and schedules of rates.
  • Monitoring project costs throughout the lifecycle, including cost reporting and value engineering.
  • Conducting regular site visits to track progress and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and other contract-related documentation.
  • Managing variations and resolving any contractual disputes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Providing professional advice on procurement strategies and project delivery methods.
  • Identifying potential cost risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant PQS experience, with exposure to a range of project types and sectors.
  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, construction contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in cost reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
Package
  • €55,000 - €70,000 depending on experience.
