My client is a well-established accountancy and advisory firm based in Galway providing professional services to a diverse range of clients, including SMEs, sole traders, and individuals. The firm are seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, client-facing environment where you will manage a portfolio of clients and provide expert financial advice and compliance services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements for small to medium-sized entities (SMEs) and other clients.
  2. Conduct fieldwork, prepare working papers, and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
  3. Prepare and review financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in accordance with Irish GAAP and FRS 102
  4. Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and year-end adjustments.
  5. Assist with management accounts and provide financial performance insights to clients.
  6. Prepare and file corporation tax, income tax, VAT, and payroll returns for clients.
  7. Conduct tax planning and advisory services to optimize client outcomes.
  8. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  9. Provide advise/guidance on financial, audit, and tax matters.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues to deliver seamless and integrated client services.
Skills/ Experiences:
  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish auditing standards, FRS 102, and Irish tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or Relate) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-first approach.
  • A proactive attitude with a keen interest in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
