ProSource are delighted to be working with an established Accountancy Practice based in Roscommon, who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Newly Qualified Accountant to join their Audit/Accounts team.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit:
  • Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including testing and analysing financial data, ensuring compliance with audit standards.
  • Prepare audit files and draft reports with actionable recommendations for clients.
  • Identify potential issues and provide practical solutions to improve client operations and financial processes.
Accounts Preparation:
  • Prepare financial statements for companies, partnerships, and sole traders in compliance with FRS 102 and other relevant standards.
  • Assist clients with their management accounts, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial records.
Client Advisory and Compliance:
  • Support clients with tax compliance and filing of VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax returns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and support.
  • Provide advice on accounting systems, controls, and regulatory changes.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualified - part qualified candidate will also be considered.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an accounting practice environment, with exposure to audit and accounts preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish auditing standards, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Relate, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
