About the CompanyProSource's client is a well-established Mechanical Contractor based in Co. Mayo, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical services across the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. With a strong pipeline of work and a portfolio of long-term, retained clients, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the financial management of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Responsibilities - Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for mechanical projects.
- Managing procurement processes, including negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure budgets are maintained.
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts for multiple projects.
- Conducting site visits to assess progress and ensure cost control measures are in place.
- Negotiating and managing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing financial risks.
- Preparing and submitting payment applications and cost reports.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, procurement guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements - A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the mechanical sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical services, procurement, and cost management.
- Experience working with standard contracts such as NEC, FIDIC, or Public Works Contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and contract administration.
Package - €55,000 - €60,000, based on experience and qualifications.
