Our client, a leading structural steel contractor, has recently secured significant investment to expand its operations. They are now focusing on offsite modular steel structures incorporating first-fix M&E packages. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in developing and delivering innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to develop mechanical solutions for modular steel structures with integrated M&E packages.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, ensuring designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the installation and coordination of first-fix mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with structural and electrical elements.
  • Provide technical expertise during the planning, design, and execution phases of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring timelines and budgets are maintained.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and the production team to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative methods to optimise mechanical integration within modular construction.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in building and expanding the M&E team as the company continues its growth.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role, ideally within construction, modular buildings, or M&E.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration within structural frameworks.
  • Experience in modular construction or prefabrication is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel occasionally, if required.
