M&E Estimator

ProSource are currently seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor or Estimator on behalf of a respected and growing M&E contractor based in Waterford, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
  
Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects.
• Producing accurate bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender documentation.
• Analysing and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure value for money.
• Monitoring project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Managing variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Collaborating with design teams and project managers to identify value engineering opportunities.
• Negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Conducting risk assessments and developing cost mitigation strategies.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, building regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the M&E sector.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their associated costs.
• Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Buildsoft, CostX) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Irish building regulations, construction contracts, and procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines.

• €55,000 - €65,000 DOE.
