Junior SHEQ Advisor

Overview:
Our client, a prominent contractor in the civil engineering and utilities sector, is seeking a Junior SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Advisor to join their team based in Newbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a career in SHEQ within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of SHEQ policies and procedures on project sites.
• Conduct routine site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Support the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and other SHEQ documentation.
• Provide SHEQ inductions and training sessions to site personnel and contractors.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of SHEQ activities, including inspections, audits, and training sessions.
• Collaborate with site teams to address SHEQ issues and promote best practices.
• Stay updated on relevant SHEQ legislation and industry standards.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• 1-2 years’ experience in a SHEQ or similar role, preferably within construction or civil engineering.
• Basic understanding of Irish SHEQ regulations and industry standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with site teams effectively.
• Highly organized, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Package:

• €35k - €40k 
• 27 Days Annual Leave
