Junior Quantity Surveyor

ProSource are working on behalf of a leading large M&E Contractor based in Waterford, specialising in delivering complex mechanical and electrical solutions across a variety of sectors, including datacentres, residential, industrial and healthcare. Due to their growing portfolio, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the successful delivery of M&E projects.
  
Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for M&E projects.
• Supporting senior quantity surveyors in the preparation of bills of quantities, cost planning, and procurement strategies.
• Assisting with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including obtaining quotations and managing contracts.
• Tracking project costs, including monitoring expenditure and preparing financial reports.
• Conducting site visits to monitor project progress and ensure that costs are aligned with budget.
• Supporting with interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
• Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of subcontracts and variations.
• Collaborating with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during project execution.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally within the M&E sector or with an M&E contractor.
• Strong understanding of M&E construction processes, cost management, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• €45,000 - €50,000 DOE.
