Junior Quantity Surveyor

ProSource are working with a a well-established and respected Main Building Contractor based in Newry to source a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
  
Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for construction projects.
• Supporting the senior quantity surveying team with the preparation of bills of quantities and cost planning.
• Assisting with procurement, including obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Managing project costs, including tracking expenditure and preparing progress reports.
• Conducting site visits to monitor project progress and assess costs.
• Supporting with the preparation of interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Assisting in the negotiation of subcontractor and supplier agreements.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and records.
• Collaborating with project teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards.
• Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, preferably with a main contractor.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, cost management, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally within the quantity surveying field.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
