About the Role:
My client is searching for an eager and self-motivated Quantity Surveyor to become an integral part of their team in Dublin. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of construction projects working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor while overseeing cost control and financial efficiency.
€50,000 - €60,000 DOE
  
Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing all cost-related aspects of projects, from tendering to final account completion.
  • Preparing detailed budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
  • Conducting material take-offs, preparing tender documentation, and issuing subcontractor packages.
  • Assessing variations, claims, and project changes, ensuring accurate and timely cost adjustments.
  • Liaising with project teams, site staff, and clients to ensure smooth communication and efficient project delivery.
  • Preparing monthly valuations and progress reports for senior management.
  • Negotiating and managing subcontractor agreements to ensure compliance and value.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of project costs and advising on cost-saving measures where applicable.
Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally with a subcontractor or within a specialist trade.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish construction practices and contracts.
  • Proficiency in cost management software such as Buildsoft, Cubit, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
