Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A respected civil engineering contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team for a long-term project based in Meath. The company delivers complex civils works including landfill construction, road construction and overlays, site enabling works, concrete structures, and retaining structures.

This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious QS looking to take ownership of meaningful project responsibilities while working closely with a highly experienced Senior QS and Contracts Management team.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support across a variety of civils works packages.
• Advise on contractual matters at both project and general levels.
• Identify opportunities for entitlement and contractual recovery.
• Prepare subcontractor and supplier documentation.
• Draft commercial and contractual correspondence in a timely manner.
• Support the Senior QS and Contracts Managers with subcontract negotiation and agreement.
• Prepare monthly valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts.
• Maintain updated risk registers, variation trackers, and extension-of-time logs.
• Assist with tender submissions including take-offs, compiling BOQs, and assessing drawings.
• Identify, investigate, and report on project losses.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering.
• Strong civils experience across earthworks, structures, and concrete works.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts.
• Strong knowledge of cost reporting, measurement methods, variations, and monthly applications.
• Excellent time management, organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking initiative where required.

Package

• €60,000 - €70,000 DOE.
