Overview: Our client, a leading contractor in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety (H&S) Manager with a strong background in utilities, renewables, or hyperscale projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety policies across large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Lead incident investigations, reporting findings, and implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate H&S practices into all project phases, from planning to execution.
- Provide H&S training, inductions, and support to all staff, ensuring they are informed of their responsibilities and safety protocols.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and senior management to address H&S concerns and maintain compliance.
- Monitor and analyse H&S performance metrics, producing reports and insights for continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of safety, promoting awareness, and encouraging safe practices across all project sites.
Requirements: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the utilities, renewables, or hyperscale sectors.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, best practices, and risk management.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate site teams.
- Experience conducting site audits, incident investigations, and training programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and H&S management software.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
