H&S Advisor

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join their team. Based in Kildare, this role involves providing health and safety support across multiple project sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining high safety standards, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures across multiple sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Provide health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to site personnel and subcontractors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventative measures.
• Maintain up-to-date health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Collaborate with site managers and project teams to address health and safety concerns and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders as required.
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement in health and safety performance across all projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the civil engineering or construction sector.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage site teams.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.
