Overview:
Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join their team in Drogheda. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving health and safety standards across civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and practices on project sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training to employees and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address health and safety issues and ensure compliance across all activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments and audits.
  • Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and provide advice to management on regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage site teams.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full driving license and ability to travel to various sites in Drogheda and surrounding areas.
