ProSource are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer for a role based in Galway with a Main Building Contractor. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to across our construction sites. This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably with a main contractor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company and statutory health and safety requirements.
  • Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS): Prepare, review, and update RAMS as required. Ensure that all on-site personnel understand and adhere to these documents.
  • Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any incidents, accidents, or near misses. Prepare detailed reports and ensure that lessons learned are communicated and implemented.
  • Training & Induction: Provide health and safety training and induction to all new employees and subcontractors. Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety documentation, including records of inspections, audits, and training.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably with a main contractor in the construction industry.
  • Education: A relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Valid Safe Pass and manual handling certificates are essential. NEBOSH or IOSH certification is highly desirable.
