Our client, a leading contractor specializing in roadworks and infrastructure, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join their Galway-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enforce health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training to employees and subcontractors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with site teams and management to address health and safety issues and implement best practices.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure all projects adhere to safety standards.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging continuous improvement and awareness among site personnel.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the roadworks or construction sector.
  • Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence site teams.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full driving license and flexibility to travel to sites across Galway and surrounding areas.
Package:
  • €55k - €65k DOE
