My client is a well know Irish Company, recognised as a global giant in the Construction Sector. A senior leadership role as Head of Accounting Compliance & Tax is now available. You will report directly to the Finance Director and your role will involve leading critical functions, ensuring compliance and offering expertise in risk management/internal controls.

Your key responsibilities will be -
- Collaborate with operating companies to implement and maintain robust internal control frameworks.
- Conduct process and system reviews to enhance efficiency and standardize controls across Ireland Materials.
- Play a lead role in Enterprise Risk Management initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with Internal and External Audit teams.
- Oversee the annual audit process and ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory accounts.
- Support management during Internal Audits and oversee the resolution of findings.
- Handle Revenue audits and ensure timely resolution of any identified issues.
- Govern and maintain oversight of the company’s SOx framework, including deficiency resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all tax filing requirements and provide updates on legislative changes.
- Address compliance requests related to banking and finance.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and liquidations of dormant companies.
- Coordinate annual insurance renewals and handle ad hoc insurance-related requests.
You will have the following skills/ Experiences:
- The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with 10 years PQE experience in a with proven expertise in accounting, tax, and compliance (SOx).
- A Proven track record of supporting management teams, delivering practical solutions, and fostering robust internal control environments.
- A strategic thinker, with the ability to formulate a plan, and execute its delivery.
- Knowledge of Irish Accounting standards (IFRS), International e.g. USGAAP, and Irish Tax.
- Keen understanding of Risk, Governance and internal control requirements.
- Excellent Communication skills - written and spoken.
- Strong Commercial and Financial analytical skills/experience.
- Ambition to progress and grow in role.
- Foster relationships at all levels within the business. This is a key collaborative role.
- Problem Solver, with the ability to understand issues, and provide well thought out solutions.
- Impeccable Organisational, Time management and attention to detail skills.
- Self motivated - ability to work on own initiative independently.
