Field Engineer

Role Overview:
Our client, a well-established General Contractor in New York City, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer with surveying experience to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least one year of experience in the field, particularly with surveying, to work on a variety of exciting construction projects in the heart of NYC.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Perform surveying tasks including site layout, measurements, and staking for various construction projects.
• Assist with construction documentation, including field data collection and report preparation.
• Support project teams with setting up equipment and coordinating work to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure that construction activities are carried out in compliance with design plans and specifications.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure proper implementation of the project scope.
• Provide accurate and timely field data for project management and engineering teams.
• Assist with quality control and maintain accurate project records.

To be successful in your application you will possess the following:

• Minimum of 1 year of field engineering experience, with a focus on surveying.
• Proficiency in surveying tools and equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS, Levels).
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
