Electrical Estimator

Introduction
A mid-sized M&E contractor with a strong presence across the Leinster region is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their growing team in Kilkenny. With a steady rate of expansion and an impressive pipeline of work, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
  
Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical elements of projects.
• Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed bills of quantities.
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Conducting risk analysis and providing value engineering solutions where appropriate.
• Working closely with the pre-construction and project teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Preparing and presenting tender documentation to senior management.
• Maintaining a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors to support ongoing estimating activities.
• Contributing to post-tender negotiations and handovers to project teams.

  
Requirements

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in electrical estimating within the construction or M&E sector.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and components in commercial and industrial projects.
• Proven experience with estimating software and tools
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with great attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a collaborative approach to working.
• Knowledge of Irish construction standards and regulations.
• Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).

  
Package
€55,000 - €65,000, depending on experience.
