Design Manager

Role Overview:
The Design Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all design-related activities for the project. Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, you will ensure that designs are developed, reviewed, and implemented efficiently, meeting project objectives in terms of quality, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the coordination of all design activities between the client, design consultants, and subcontractors.
Ensure timely delivery of design packages and that they are fully coordinated and in line with project specifications.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
Act as the primary point of contact for all design-related queries and decisions.
Review design documentation for compliance with statutory regulations, building codes, and project requirements.
Collaborate with project managers to align design progress with the overall project program.
Implement and maintain robust quality control processes for all design outputs.
Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising on quality or client requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in design management, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
• Proven track record of managing design processes on large-scale commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, codes, and standards.
• Proficiency in design and project management software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
