Assistant Project Manager

Role Overview:

Our client, a well-established General Contractor in New York City, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with surveying experience to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least one year of field experience, particularly in surveying, to work on a variety of dynamic and high-profile construction projects in the heart of NYC.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Assist with project management tasks, including overseeing project schedules, budgets, and coordination of resources.
• Perform surveying duties such as site layout, measurements, and staking for projects.
• Support project teams by collecting field data and assisting in the preparation of reports and construction documentation.
• Ensure construction activities are executed according to design plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure proper implementation of the project scope.
• Provide accurate and timely data to project management and engineering teams to facilitate decision-making.
• Monitor project progress and assist with maintaining accurate project records and documentation.

To be successful in your application you will possess the following:

• Minimum of 1 year of field experience in surveying.
• Proficiency with surveying tools and equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS, Levels).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project needs.
